Glostrup occupies one of the western suburbs of Copenhagen, and constitutes a separate municipality with respect to it. It’s a modern middle class suburb, where a lot of large companies are located, making it a very important industrial pole. It also hosts a hospital, and other public offices and institutions. Historically, a lot of residential buildings were built here to address the problem of growing population combined with the need of expanding the number of housing units outside Copenhagen. Today also some notable people live in the area, which is very practical thanks to the presence of the S-train line which connects it to the city centre. Moreover, in front of the station, there is a major bus terminal, with buses departing in many directions.
